The employer is looking for a highly motivated person with a PhD to conduct advanced spectroscopic research on colloidal nanocrystals. The selected person will be involved in the study of optical properties by measuring photoluminescence, absorption and Raman scattering. Experiments will be conducted on nanocrystal suspensions and their thin layers as well as on single nanostructures using microscopic techniques. The candidate will work, in particular, with an optical microscope enabling research with submicron spatial resolution and detection of light emission from single nanostructures. Therefore, experience in nanostructure spectroscopy confirmed by appropriate publications is necessary.
Main responsibilities:
- Conducting photoluminescence measurements of colloidal nanocrystals, with particular emphasis on single nanostructures.
- Optimization and operation of an optical microscope for high-resolution spectroscopy.
- Analysis of experimental data using Origin software and Python scripts.
- Cooperation with a dynamic, international research team and contribution to development scientific group.

Colloid nanocrystals are highly versatile materials that have already been used in commercial technologies. However, their wider use is limited by the toxicity of lead and cadmium ions, which are commonly found in well-known compounds such as lead or cadmium chalcogenides and lead halide perovskites.
