As an AI Engineer - Dealflow, you will develop and be responsible for the product or tool we use to build our proprietary deal flow within the investment team focused on DACH-based software and tech SMEs. Your goal: To identify and reach attractive companies and their shareholders early on—ideally before an M&A advisor is retained or a broad sales process is launched.

In doing so, you’ll bridge two worlds: AI skills and deal origination. You’ll build the data, tool, and reporting infrastructure on which Market Maps, outbound campaigns, potential investments, and a scalable sourcing process are based. You’ll work closely with our FLEX Leadership Team, the Investment Team, and the Data & AI Team, and from day one, you’ll be given a high degree of autonomy to help build a key function at FLEX.

• You will build and be responsible for the AI product/tool that continuously feeds our origination funnel with software and technology companies in the DACH region’s SME sector. You will continuously develop and iteratively improve it.
• You’ll develop the screening and prioritization logic for targets and systematically improve the accuracy of the results.
• You’ll expand automated data acquisition and enrichment so that targets are enriched with firmographics and ownership structures.
• You’ll develop logic and workflows to identify intent signals and potential sales interest.
• You’ll initiate automated multichannel outreach and further develop the underlying processes.
• You’ll build dashboards and reports on funnels, activities, and conversions to serve as the foundation for our sourcing and pipeline reviews.
• You’ll evaluate new prospecting and sourcing tools and further develop outreach strategies, sequences, and our messaging library.

• You have built your own tools and automations that have been put to productive use—not just prototypes and demos.
• You have at least 2–3 years of experience building AI-based products/tools.
• You develop independently in Python and deploy to production on Azure using Docker. You have hands-on experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Claude) and know where they work reliably and where they don’t (yet).
• You already have experience working with CRM data and understand what matters when it comes to data quality and structure. Knowledge of Pipedrive, agent systems, and frameworks such as LangGraph is a plus.
• You think commercially: You understand why a target is relevant and measure your success by results.
• You have successfully completed a degree in Business Informatics, Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a comparable STEM field.
• You are fluent in German and English.
