Description: Do you want to take the next step as a backend developer and build your career in AI and generative AI? We are now looking for an AI/ML-oriented backend developer for a fast-growing Swedish AI consulting company where you get to work hands-on with modern AI solutions in sharp customer projects.

Here you get to combine backend development with techniques such as LLMs, RAG and agentic AI, while working closely with and receiving support from senior AI architects and Tech Leads. The role suits you who are relatively early in your career but who have a stable technical foundation and a genuine interest in developing within AI engineering.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client is a Swedish consulting company specializing in AI and generative AI. The company helps Swedish organizations to realize the business value of AI - from strategy and consulting to the development, implementation and operation of production-set AI solutions.

The customers consist of both established Swedish companies and fast-growing organizations, and the assignments can, for example, deal with agent-based AI solutions, RAG architecture, integration of large language models, scalable data pipelines and modern cloud infrastructure.

The company is a small and fast-moving specialist team with high ambitions in AI. The focus is on building solutions that create concrete business benefit rather than using new technology for technology's own sake.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As an AI/ML Backend Developer, you will be part of the company's consulting team and work in customer assignments to develop backend services, APIs and technical infrastructure that enable AI functionality.

The role is at Level 1 and is aimed at you who are still relatively early in your developer career. You do not need to have previously worked professionally with AI or machine learning. However, we are looking for you who have a good foundation in backend development, are curious about AI and want to develop quickly in the field.

You work closely with senior AI architects and Tech Leads and have the opportunity to gradually take on greater responsibility in both development and technical discussions and customer assignments.

YOUR MAIN WORK TASKS

    Develop and maintain backend services in Python, for example with FastAPI.
    Build and further develop APIs that enables different types of AI functionality.
    Work hands-on with integrations towards LLMs and gradually develop your competence in RAG and agentic AI.
    Work in modern cloud environments such as Azure, AWS or GCP together with senior developers and architects.
    Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices and efficient development flows.
    Participate in technical discussions around architecture, requirements and solution design.
    Collaborate with senior colleagues and gradually take on greater technical responsibility in customer projects.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU AS

    Has approximately 3-5 years of experience in backend or software development, where relevant internships and junior developer roles can also be included
    Has practical knowledge of Python, alternatively a strong technical foundation and the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with the language
    Has a basic understanding of REST APIs, databases and cloud services
    Have a genuine interest in AI and machine learning
    Preferably have experimented with LLMs, RAG, machine learning or similar through own projects, studies or previous work.
    Has relevant college or university education in computer science, IT or equivalent experience
    Communicates well in English

Knowledge of Swedish is meritorious.
