Description: About the position The section for artificial intelligence and applied technology at Kripos works to develop new solutions and methods for use in the fight against crime. The section is interdisciplinary and works to establish new capabilities within investigation and intelligence, as well as to make these areas more efficient through the use of artificial intelligence. In addition, the section collaborates closely with other national and international actors on KI. As an AI developer, you will actively assist in cases and contribute to new solutions and methods within investigation and intelligence, as well as work long-term with the AI platform and services. The section is also involved in various academic research projects and there will be an opportunity to contribute to these. The section is located at the Section for Electronic Tracks (E-tracks), which is one of five sections in the National Cybercrime Center (NC3) department. The section's main purpose is to develop new methods and tools to secure, read, interpret and analyze electronic traces and evidence to assist and support professional environments and investigations. The section is among Europe's leaders in the field and participates in several international method development projects and collaboration forums. In the role of AI developer, you will contribute to the Police's important social mission, while at the same time working at the forefront of technological development. You will work in an interdisciplinary team where you will contribute to the design, development and quality assurance of sophisticated AI-based solutions to be used in investigation and intelligence. This requires solid analytical and technical skills and a good ability to work in a large and complex organisation, with high demands for compliance. You will also contribute to the coordination of the section's work towards machine learning and artificial intelligence across Kripos, the agency and with other national and international partners. Kripos follows the development of crime and it is therefore a prerequisite that you are flexible with regard to areas of responsibility, work tasks and organisation. As an employee of Kripos there is the possibility of a home office, but as an emergency organisation, there is an expectation of physical presence several days a week. Kripos' working language is Norwegian, and it is a prerequisite that the person employed is fluent in Norwegian, both orally and in writing. Some travel must be expected. We provide assistance to the police districts and have specialist expertise in areas such as tactical investigation, forensics, electronic traces, special investigative methods, criminal intelligence and analysis. We are also responsible for processing the police's central registers and the national contact point for international police cooperation. The national forensic laboratory is also located at Kripos. The state workforce must reflect the population as much as possible.
