Description: Alice & Bob is developing the first universal fault-tolerant quantum computer, intended to solve some of the world's most complex problems. The quantum computer we are designing is based on a new type of superconducting qubit: the Schrödinger “cat” qubit?. Compared to other superconducting platforms, this technology enables autonomous quantum error correction, paving the way for more reliable and more scalable systems.
We are an international team of more than 140 talents from more than 20 countries, united around a common goal: to revolutionize computing with a fault-tolerant and truly exploitable quantum machine. Are you ready to take on unprecedented challenges and help shape the future of quantum computing?
Job Background
The Calibration team automates calibrations of our cat-qubit Quantum Processing Unit (QPU) to maximize performance and maintain the processor in operational conditions.
As a Calibration API Software Engineer, you develop and maintain the calibration API and associated Python libraries used by physicists to write automatic calibration blocks, analysis routines and calibration reports.
Your role is central to ensuring that these tools are robust, well tested, compatible with CI/CD pipelines and perfectly integrated with the QPU's internal acquisition and control software.
The position:
- The Calibration team automates the calibrations of our Quantum Processing Unit (QPU) with cat qubits in order to maximize performance and to maintain the processor in operational conditions.
- As a Calibration API Software Engineer, you develop and maintain the calibration API and associated Python libraries used by physicists to write automatic calibration blocks, analysis routines and calibration reports.
- Your role is central to ensuring that these tools are robust, well tested, compatible with CI/CD pipelines and seamlessly integrated with the QPU's internal acquisition and control software.
Required profile:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the development of scientific or instrumentation software, ideally in Python.
- Excellent command of Python, with solid experience in API design, static typing and analysis tools (mypy, pylint).
- Very good debugging skills and pragmatic approach to reconcile software robustness and scientist productivity.
- Experience with frameworks testing (pytest), CI/CD systems and writing integration tests.
- Ability to produce clear documentation, examples and developer tools adapted to non-software specialist users.
