Description:

Amedia is in an exciting development phase, where we will become even better at using our own data to improve the customer journey, user experience and marketing. On this occasion, we are now looking for you who will help further develop the data infrastructure that makes this possible in the role of Data & Analytics Engineer.

Amedia is Norway's largest publisher of editor-managed media, with over 2 million readers every day. The Product & Technology area, which is located in the wonderful Tollgården right by Oslo S, currently has 138 people divided into teams of 5 to 15 people.

With us, you will work with complex backend challenges, develop new services and integrations and contribute to solutions that are robust, scalable and easy to further develop. You will have the opportunity to influence how a central part of Amedia's technology platform will look in the future.

As a Data & Analytics Engineer, you will be an important part of the work to modernize how we collect, process and use data in Amedia. You will work with data from our subscription systems, our central data platform and the tools used for marketing, analysis and reporting.

This is a role where you get to see the results of your work in use. The data you make available will, among other things, be used to understand our subscribers better, make communication more relevant, test new measures and provide the business with a better basis for decision-making.

Central work tasks:

  • Build and manage data flow between our marketing automation platform and the data platform, so we can use data for more targeted communications with subscribers.

  • Get data from our self-developed subscription systems and make it available in Google BigQuery.

  • Develop and maintain data models and transformations in dbt.

  • Build data flow for offer and product recommendations in collaboration with data scientists.

  • Create data products that are used for reporting and analysis of the subscription business.

  • Build data flows that make it possible to measure and evaluate A/B tests and other experiments.

  • Ensure that data from the data platform can be used by other systems and tools through APIs and other integrations.

  • Contribute to phasing out older solutions for reporting and forecasts.

We are looking for you as:

  • Has solid experience with SQL and data modelling.

  • Has experience with modern cloud data warehouses, preferably BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift or similar.

  • Has experience with dbt or similar tools for transformation and management of data flows.

  • Has experience in integrating data between different systems, preferably through APIs.

  • Understands how to build robust, testable and documented data flows.

  • Has experience with Python or another programming language for data management and automation.

  • Can work independently and translate business needs into concrete technical solutions.

  • Communicates well and enjoys collaborating with both technical and non-technical professional environments.

It is an advantage if you also have experience with market automation platforms or CDPs, knowledge of payment and subscription systems, experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster, experience with version control such as Git, as well as an understanding of privacy and GDPR when handling subscriber and customer data.

We offer:

  • A workplace with commitment, trust and short decision-making paths.

  • A culture where we continuously develop through the sharing of knowledge and learning.

  • Fantastic offices in brand new premises with a short distance to public transport.

  • Delicious hot lunch in the staff restaurant.

  • Good development opportunities with a strong competence environment, conferences and relevant events.

  • Competitive conditions, health insurance and high pension.

  • Social happenings such as summer party, kick-off, Christmas party and company trip.

And you? We know that no one can do everything. As long as you recognize a lot of this and want to contribute with us, we hope you will register your interest!
