Company: VESTRE VIKEN HF DRAMMEN SYKEHUS - SOMATIKK

Country: Norway

Type: Hybrid remote

Employment: Full-time

Description:

Do you want to develop data solutions that provide better decisions in the healthcare service?

Do you want to make a real difference in the healthcare system? Are you driven by converting complex data into solutions that are used and create change? Then maybe it's you we're looking for.

You don't just get a finished order in your lap. You will be a professional discussion partner who identifies needs, explores issues together with strong professional environments and develops the tools needed in a complex hospital everyday life.

The position is suitable for you who want professionally demanding tasks, great independence and work with clear societal value.

Tasks

This is what you will work with
With us, you develop data bases and reporting solutions that are used in management, research and patient treatment. An important part of the work is to establish a data base that enables managers, clinicians, researchers and other professional environments to carry out their own analyses.

You will, among other things:

  • identify information needs together with the users
  • explore data in complex databases, data warehouses and professional systems
  • translate needs and issues into reliable data models and analysis bases
  • develop intuitive and visually good solutions in Power BI adapted to different target groups
  • use Git for version control and dbt with SQL for data transformation
  • communicate complex data in an understandable way and contribute to change in practice

You will work in a hybrid infrastructure where the most sensitive health data is processed in local infrastructure. There is a separate team that develops the joint platform in the region. This means that tools, methodology and working methods will be able to change over time.

Machine learning and artificial intelligence are not the main content of the position, but there are good opportunities to use and further develop such expertise in relevant projects.

With us, you will be responsible for your own deliveries and usually follow a solution all the way from needs clarification to finished data model, report or dashboard. At the same time, you are not alone. You get a structured onboarding with an introduction to our technology and working methods. We regularly meet to share professional expertise, where we exchange experiences, present solutions and learn from each other.

When the tasks require it, we work in interdisciplinary teams. In larger projects, you can collaborate with developers, clinicians, researchers and other professional environments across the healthcare institutions in Helse Sør-Öst. It gives you access to a regional professional environment of over 50 employees and the opportunity to participate in projects that provide societal value for half of Norway's population.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

  • relevant higher education, preferably at master's degree level, in IT, computer science, statistics, mathematics, economics, engineering, medicine or another relevant subject area
  • good expertise in data modeling, semantic models and SQL
  • experience with data visualization and development of reports and dashboards
  • experience with finding, collating and quality assurance of data from complex data sources
  • good written and oral presentation skills in Norwegian

It is an advantage if you have experience in one or more of these areas:

  • Python
  • experience with Git or other version control
  • flexible development
  • health data or experience from the health sector

We do not expect you to fulfill all our wishes. If you have relevant experience and motivation for the tasks, we still hope that you apply.

Personal characteristics

We are looking for you who like to go in depth, are confident in your own professional judgments and take responsibility for driving deliveries forward with high quality. We believe you will thrive with us if you:

  • take independent responsibility for deliveries, progress and quality
  • like to investigate complex data sources and find relevant information
  • have a good eye for data visualization
  • are concerned that the solutions should be robust, understandable and useful
  • dare to challenge needs and propose better solutions
  • communicates well and thrives in close dialogue with users
  • contributes actively in professional discussions and sharing knowledge with colleagues

Personal suitability will be emphasised.

We offer

Therefore you should choose Vestre Viken

With us, you get

  • a competent environment with structured onboarding and permanent sharing of expertise
  • opportunity for personal development and learning
  • varied tasks and independence
  • participate in major interdisciplinary and regional projects

  • flexible working hours and the option of a home office after agreement
  • competitive conditions with good pension and insurance schemes

About the employer:

Vestre Viken health company is Norway in miniature. We deliver specialist healthcare services to 500,000 people in 22 municipalities. We cover large urban areas, but also places where letterboxes are far apart. This challenges us to think about healthcare services in new ways. The health service must be equally good regardless of where you live.

We have set ourselves a goal to become good at user-driven service development. This means that we are keen to involve residents in the work to develop our joint health service - because we believe that good solutions start with understanding the needs. Continuous improvement is part of our culture, and we believe in connecting professionals and expertise across hospitals to create development. Vestre Viken are curious about how technology can contribute to more efficient and safe patient treatment. That is why we have created a virtual hospital, so that patients can receive treatment where they are.

Vestre Viken creates the health service of the future - every day!

Welcome applicants!
