Description:
ContextIn a context of energy transition and massive development of renewable energies, electricity storage is becoming a key issue to ensure the stability and flexibility of networks. The question of the cost of storage and its evolution in the medium and long term is thus structuring. In this context, a first internal bottom-up tool was developed. The objective of the internship is, based on this base, to develop a modeling tool coded in Python. This will make it possible to assess future battery costs based on technological innovations (materials, architectures, processes) and projections of raw material costs. Internship objectives The intern will actively contribute to the design and implementation of a battery cost modeling tool. The main missions will include:- Analysis: Take charge of the existing model (bottom-up approach) and identify the key parameters (raw material costs, manufacturing processes, etc.). - Development: Transpose the model into Python, integrating automatic data updating functionalities (via a HMI or dedicated interfaces).- Validation & optimization: Test the robustness of the model with various scenarios.- Capitalization: Writing a user guide and a technical report ensuring the maintenance and evolution of the tool.- Innovation: Development of a methodology allowing the integration of emerging technologies Duration: 4 to 6 months Location: EDF Lab Les Renardières (77). Perspectives This internship within EDF R&D offers concrete experience at the intersection of economics, data science and storage technologies, in a field undergoing rapid transformation. The intern will participate directly in the development of a strategic tool for the reliability of electrical networks, with a direct impact on the industrial decisions of tomorrow - a unique opportunity to acquire solid technical skills while contributing to a project with a strong industrial impact. Engineering school or Master's degree. Programming: Master's degree Python, visualization tools (Matplotlib, Plotly). VBA is a plus. Economic modeling: Interest in cost analysis and industrial projections. Data & tools: Mastery of Excel. Knowledge of Gitlab and data science tools are a plus. Batteries, materials, electrical networks: General notions appreciatedSoft skills: Curiosity, rigor, analytical mind and taste for teamwork.
