- Native or fluent Spanish; technical English (reading documentation).
About Lexia
Lexia develops legal artificial intelligence software for the Mexican market, focusing on corporate law firms and notary offices. We are currently in the product development phase and setting up our first pilot projects with clients. Small team, quick decisions, no layers of middle management.
The Role
We’re looking for a junior full-stack developer to join the product team. You’ll work directly with the co-founder(s) on developing product features (dashboard, compliance modules, integrations), not as part of a large team with cumbersome processes. We expect you to quickly gain autonomy—the early-stage startup environment means ambiguity and shifting priorities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain end-to-end (frontend + backend) product features.
- Build and iterate on the dashboard with differentiated permission structures (notary/lawyer).
- Integrate external services (third-party APIs, potential integrations with language models).
- Participate in basic architecture decisions, under the supervision of the technical team.
- Write maintainable code and document the minimum technical decisions necessary so that the (small) team does not depend on a single person.
What We Offer
$1,500 USD/month, with a review to $1,800 USD/month after the first 6 months (subject to performance evaluation). Hybrid work arrangement in Mexico City. No equity package for this position. Direct exposure to all product decisions from an early stage. Accelerated learning curve: you’ll work on frontend, backend, and part of the product’s business logic.
Nice to have (not required)
- Interest in or prior experience with legaltech, fintech, or regulated products.
- Familiarity with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic) or a willingness to learn.
- Experience with Git/version control in a team setting.
