Description: ## Overview LMI is hiring a motivated, detail-oriented Junior Python Programmer to help build health-focused software that supports payment calculations and informs Medicare and Medicare Advantage policy related to risk adjustment. This is a remote position. You will work with developers, data scientists, and healthcare professionals on systems that process payment data and integrate with healthcare platforms such as EHR/EMR systems. ### The work and day-to-day You will write, test, and maintain clean, efficient Python code and help implement backend services, APIs, and integrations. Responsibilities include developing interactions with databases, writing queries, validating data, and ensuring integrity and consistency. You will assist in designing and building RESTful APIs, perform unit and integration testing, and participate in debugging across development and production environments. Collaboration with product managers, senior engineers, and QA is expected, as is documenting code and workflows to support maintainability and team knowledge-sharing. Typical activities will include: - Writing, testing, and maintaining Python code; implementing backend services and APIs - Developing and optimizing interactions with Snowflake, Postgre. SQL, My. SQL, or No. SQL databases such as Mongo. DB - Performing data validation and ensuring data integrity - Creating and running unit and integration tests and contributing to test automation - Troubleshooting and debugging issues with guidance from senior developers ### Who we're looking for Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field and 2+ years of professional Python programming experience. You should have proficiency with Python and experience with libraries such as Py. Spark, Pandas, Num. Py, Polars, or similar frameworks. A basic understanding of database management and querying using SQL and/or No. SQL databases (Snowflake, Postgre. SQL, My. SQL, Mongo. DB) is required, along with familiarity with version control using Git. Experience using Agile methodologies (SAFe, Scrum), JIRA, and writing and executing unit and integration tests is expected. Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, attention to detail, the ability to work in a team, willingness to learn, and clear communication of technical concepts are also required. Preferred attributes include experience in federal consulting, demonstrated experience with healthcare data projects (for example, claims processing or payment systems) or financial/banking systems, awareness of healthcare domain challenges such as compliance with HIPAA, and knowledge of containerization tools (e.g., Docker) and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or other providers).
