Description:

You are responsible for the management and further development of Odoo and the company-specific applications. You combine technical development with direct user contact and translate operational needs into practical solutions. You are expected to take internal ownership of the business applications and collaborate with external development partners where necessary. The initial technical focus is on Odoo, the existing internal applications and interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Continuing to manage and develop Odoo is a central part of his working day.

• He also monitors the coherence between Odoo, internal applications, integrations, data and reporting.

• For the internal platform (a .NET application for the reporting process), he takes on the functional and technical management, with support from an external partner for specialized .NET development.

• In direct consultation with users he analyzes their needs and translates them into clear functional and technical specifications.

• For each question, he assesses how a need is best solved: via the Odoo standard, configuration, process adjustment, integration or customization.

• He independently carries out feasible configurations and developments in Odoo and Python.

• After the development phase he tests the changes thoroughly and ensures a controlled delivery to the users.

• In the event of incidents and technical problems he carries out analyses, resolves them himself where possible and calls in targeted colleagues or external specialists.

• Accurately documenting applications, technical choices and procedures guarantees a workable backup and smooth knowledge transfer.

• Finally, it helps determine priorities based on business impact, risk, effort, maintainability and total cost

Profile

• Sufficient technical knowledge and experience are available to take independent responsibility and choose solutions that meet the needs of the business.

• Demonstrated experience with Odoo and Python, gained in development, technical management or a similar role, is essential.

• In addition, the candidate is familiar with ERP implementations or other mission-critical business applications.

• Knowledge of .NET, Git and Docker forms a solid foundation, supplemented with experience in databases, API integrations and reporting.

• Smooth communication with non-technical users is a given, as is constructive cooperation with external specialists.

• Finally, the ideal candidate speaks fluent Dutch or French and can express themselves understandably in the other language.

Nice thing

• Experience with mobile applications or specific solutions for field staff is a strong asset.

• Knowledge of code reviews, testing, upgrades or collaborations with external development partners is a clear added value.

• A previous role in a Belgian technical SME, construction, engineering or project environment is a plus.
