Platform Engineer - GitLab & Automation (m/w/d) at CPU Consulting & Software GmbH

Your role:

Design and operate a central GitLab platform that numerous development teams rely on every day.

For our customer, a leading IT service provider in the banking sector, we are looking for an experienced Platform Engineer (m/f/d) with a focus on the operation and further development of a business-critical GitLab environment.

In this role You ensure that a central development platform is operated in a stable, secure and efficient manner. You automate operational processes, further develop existing platform services and support development teams in providing their software efficiently and reliably.

You combine your expertise in GitLab operation, automation and the DevOps environment with the opportunity to actively shape modern platform solutions.

Your tasks

Operate the GitLab platform: You are responsible for them Administration, secure operation and continuous development of a central GitLab instance (self-managed / on-premises).

Ensure stability and security: You plan and implement updates, patches and security measures and evaluate release notes as well as possible breaking changes.

Automate operational processes: You help automate installation, configuration and operational processes Ansible/AWX, Python and Infrastructure-as-Code tools.

Further develop platform services: You integrate central platform components into existing system landscapes and continuously develop an internal self-service portal.

Optimize CI/CD processes: You support the further development of automated build, test and deployment processes with GitLab CI/CD and modern container technologies.

Solve technical challenges: You analyze and resolve faults, handle complex operational and support requests and ensure reliable platform operation.

Support development teams: You are the technical contact for the use of the GitLab platform and support you with questions about CI/CD, automation and platform integration.

This what you bring

You have several years of professional experience in platform engineering, DevOps or in the operation of complex IT platforms.

You have practical experience in administration and operation of GitLab, ideally in a self-managed or on-premises environment, and you know the basic GitLab architecture.

You have very good knowledge of Ansible/AWX and Python and have experience with Bash/Shell scripting.

You are confident in using GitLab CI/CD, Docker and container platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.

You have experience in application development, ideally with Node.js and Angular, as well as dealing with Git and artifact repositories.

You are familiar with the administration of complex IT systems, especially with updates, patches, error analyzes and the automation of operational processes.

You work in a structured and independent manner, communicate confidently in technical teams and have German language skills at C1 level as well as English skills B2 level.

Attractive remuneration: Your experience and technical know-how should also be reflected financially. Depending on your qualifications and professional experience, we offer you a salary of 80,000 to 100,000 euros gross per year.
