Role description and task agreements
Assignment description
The functionality for searching and matching people in the innovation must be made production-worthy and ready for production within the Matching People project. Within the IND, the Data Services department has developed its own tool to search for people and this needs to be further developed. This includes improving the code so that: results are returned sufficiently quickly, the correct matches are returned after a search and it is sufficiently robust. The code is written in SQL and Python, but some work is still needed to make it production-worthy, such as expanding tests, improving code coverage, error handling, etc. To achieve this, we collaborate with other colleagues within the Information Services department, such as Java developers, network administrators and technical administrators.
Background of assignment
Within the Information Provision Directorate (DIV), the Data Services (DD) department started a Proof of Concept in 2024. The aim was to build functionality for searching and matching people in the new IV landscape. This has resulted in a self-built tool called Matchmaker. Matchmaker is a tool built in Python that makes it possible to search in an SQL database.
