At least 3 years of professional software development experience, or equivalent demonstrated expertise.
Proven experience independently delivering production software.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one modern backend development environment.
Experience with React, Next.js, Node.js, or comparable frameworks.
Experience designing and working with relational databases, such as PostgreSQL.
Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
Hands-on experience deploying applications to AWS, Google Cloud, Vercel, or similar environments.
Strong understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, and data protection.
Experience with Git, automated testing, CI/CD, and production debugging.
Experience using AI coding tools in real development workflows.
Ability to communicate clearly in English.
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and take responsibility for completed deliverables.
Ability to work with Codex, Claude Code, and more.

We're investing heavily in software development, AI-powered learning tools, automation, and integrations to improve student outcomes.

We're looking for an experienced software engineer who can take ownership of these projects.

What You'll Build

Projects may include:

AI-powered learning tools: Adaptive remediation, AI tutors, and more
Agency management dashboards: Pipeline management systems, exam outcomes based on course performance, and more
Automated follow-up systems: AI-assisted workflows to help struggling students
API integrations
Internal business applications: AI customer service systems, and more
Existing application improvements: Troubleshooting, etc

Responsibilities

Independently architect, develop, test, and deploy full-stack applications.
Build reliable backend services, APIs, and database integrations.
Develop responsive web interfaces and dashboards.
Work with applications hosted on Vercel, AWS, Google Cloud, or comparable platforms.
Use AI coding tools to accelerate development while maintaining high engineering standards.
Review, debug, and improve AI-generated code.
Implement secure authentication, authorization, and data-access controls.
Write automated tests and establish reliable deployment processes.
Monitor application performance and troubleshoot production issues.
Document technical architecture and development decisions.
Collaborate with our COO to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Identify technical risks and recommend practical solutions.
