Description: 🚀 We are looking for a Senior Linux and KVM specialist - Enterprise Infrastructure

Hykmann Global Business Solutions AB is looking for a highly experienced and independent Linux and virtualization specialist for a qualified consulting assignment in Linköping. You get to work with advanced Linux and KVM-based platforms in a security-classified environment where operational security, IT security and technical competence are at the center.

Start date - 2027-01-11

End date - 2027-12-31

We are looking for you who have deep technical experience, can make independent decisions and have solid practical experience in building, operating and troubleshooting virtualization platforms in production environment.

📍 Location: Linköping

🏢 Type of work: Full-time, 100% on-site

📅 Assignment period: Initially 6–12 months, with long-term need

🚀 Start: According to agreement, after approved security testing

🔧 About the assignment

You are responsible for operation, development and further development of enterprise Linux environments and KVM-based virtualization platforms, among others for simulator solutions. You work both operationally and strategically with infrastructure design, performance optimization, security and automation.

Your main responsibilities:

Manage and further develop Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.

Design, build and operate KVM-based virtualization platforms.

Troubleshoot and optimize hypervisors, storage, network and performance.

Security harden Linux environments with SELinux, firewalld and certificate management.

Integrate Linux with Windows and Active Directory.

Automate configuration and deployment with Ansible.

Collaborate with senior specialists in system design, operation and IT security.

Skills & requirements

✅ Mandatory qualifications

At least 8 years of experience operating and managing Linux- and server infrastructure.

Deep expertise in RHEL 8, 9, and 10, including package management, systemd, and security hardening.

Documented hands-on experience with KVM in a production environment, including libvirt, QEMU, and hypervisor-level debugging.

Experience in Linux and Active Directory integration with SSSD, Kerberos, LDAP, DNS, and SMB/CIFS.

Good understanding of networking and storage, including VLAN, LVM, NFS and SAN/NAS.

Experience with Linux firewalls, such as firewalld and nftables, as well as TLS/SSL, PKI and certificate management.

Practical experience with Ansible for automation and configuration management.

A documented seniority perspective, high degree of independence and ability to drive technical issues forward.

Important: You must have built and operated KVM-based platforms in practice. Mere experience in creating and administering virtual machines via a graphical interface is not sufficient.

⭐ Creditable experiences

RHCE or RHCSA certification.

Red Hat Satellite and Red Hat Identity Management (IdM/FreeIPA).

Scripting in Python and Bash.

PKI and certificate management between Windows CA and Linux.

IT security in sensitive or security-classified environments.

Physical server installation and infrastructure work.

Good communication skills in Swedish and English.

🔐 Security requirements

Swedish citizenship is a requirement.

Approved security clearance at level RK2 is required before the start of the assignment.

The assignment is carried out 100% on site in a security-classified environment.

Travel may occur.
