Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Engineer, API Integrations for a full-time position (40 hours per week/2 days a week in the office) in the USA. Our client is a synthetic biology start-up company in South San Francisco, California. The company has developed a proprietary silicon-based manufacturing process to produce synthetic DNA. They serve Life Science researchers who are changing the world for the better. From diverse medicine, agriculture, industrial chemicals, and data storage fields, scientists use the client’s synthetic genes, oligo pools, and NGS target enrichment to better lives and improve the planet’s sustainability. Synthetic biologists use the products to engineer organisms that produce medicine and create everyday chemicals using the atmosphere as a carbon source. These breed plants make their fertilizers and develop in-vivo diagnostics that alert us when sick. The Israel R&D center in Tel Aviv is building software tools that enable synthetic biologists to design and edit biological code and develop better bio-based products faster and cheaper. We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to work on designing, developing, implementing, and supporting customer-facing APIs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience delivering commercial cloud-based software applications.
- Strong work ethic and self-starter attitude.
- Experience as a technical lead throughout the full software development lifecycle.
- Expertise in Python, Node.js, and Django.
- Solid experience with PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with cloud-based development using AWS, including Lambda applications.
- Experience with Message Queuing frameworks such as RabbitMQ and Kafka.
- Experience working with geographically dispersed software development teams.
- Solid knowledge of modern software technologies and practices, including microservices, CI/CD, and container-based technologies.
- Expert knowledge of REST API development.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
- Working knowledge of Git and familiarity with the GitHub workflow.
- Comfortable working with DevOps and production systems/configurations than a typical developer.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance new and existing solutions for the client’s integration API.
- Collaborate with customers and partners on B2B integrations.
- Participate in requirements gathering, technical specification, design, and software development for customer-facing applications.
- Promote software engineering best practices.
- Follow regulatory and ISO 13485 requirements.
Will be a plus:
- Familiarity with MES or LIMS systems.
