ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Full-Stack Senior Software Engineer who loves solving complex problems. You’ll help us spearhead our effort to rearchitect our backend and guide us towards a rock-solid foundation for core systems as we approach rapid scale (we’ve chosen Django, and looking for leverage here). You’ll also help design, build, and iterate on product features that delight our guests, from menu personalization, to an M/L based cook-time predictor, to our self-ordering Kiosks.

We are a well-funded early-stage startup with amazing traction, and we’re moving fast while balancing near term focus and long term scalability! As an early Engineer at Local Kitchens, you will have abundant growth potential as well as direct impact on shaping the future of Local Kitchens. 

ABOUT YOU

• 5-10+ years building scalable engineering solutions across the stack.

• Proven track record for designing and building core services and API’s for a variety of product use cases. 

• Deep production-level experience with Django.

• Comfort with React/Typescript.

• Strong understanding of fundamentals of relational data modeling and design (we use PostgreSQL, but our use cases are expanding beyond that).

• Ability to lead major architecture initiatives from the ground up, balancing for speed while designing for scale

• Believer in automated testing, continuous integration, high code quality.

• Interest and experience in coaching/mentoring junior engineers.

• Collaborative approach to building software with engineers and cross-functional partners

• Bonus: Devops/CI/CD experience.
