Description: 1 software developer (m/f/d) content production

Full-time 38.5 hours home office hybrid Location Vienna

Your role:

* Participation in software development for our content production

* Development and further development of automated conversion and preparation processes in Java and Python to convert manuscripts and existing content data into uniform, media-neutral ones XML structures for print, RDB and AI applications

* Analysis of requirements as well as specification, technical design and implementation of existing and new solutions

* Use and further development of AI-supported development processes and tools

* Participation in technical and architectural decisions

* Structural and semantic preparation of content for AI applications using segmentation and metadata enrichment

* Ensuring long-term stable and reliable operation of applications for content production in the sense of a DevOps culture

* Taking over maintenance work and troubleshooting for existing solutions

* Continuous professional training and active exchange of knowledge within the team

Your profile:

* Completed IT training (HTL/FH/TU) or comparable qualification as well as around 3 years of professional experience in software development, ideally in backend or API environment

* Good Python knowledge and interest in processing and transforming structured content with XML and B. GitHub Copilot or Claude Code

* Required knowledge: Git, Python, Java, Spring Framework

* Advantageous: Knowledge of XPath, XML Schema, rule-based XML validation, GitLab, Jira, Confluence, PostgreSQL and VS Code

* Interest in modern development approaches as well as the ability to participate in and shape the modernization of content production

* Willingness to familiarize yourself with editorial and publishing production processes and to translate requirements from proofreading, production and online production into understandable technical solutions

* Good knowledge of German

* You enjoy working in a team and bring experience from an agile software development environment

* Independent, responsible and solution-oriented working style with a high level of quality awareness
