Then do it again The Role: We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer with expertise in Python programming and high volume data applications to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in developing and deploying high performance, scalable, and secure data processing systems. As a Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our data processing platform, ensuring it meets the needs of our internal and external clients. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement highly scalable and reliable data processing systems using Python and related technologies Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify requirements, design and implement solutions, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products Develop, test, and maintain software components and APIs to support data processing workflows and integrations Work closely with stakeholders to understand their requirements and build systems that meet their needs Continuously optimize data processing systems to improve performance, scalability, and cost efficiency Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure platform availability, reliability, and security Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities to ensure high-quality software delivery Mentor and coach junior engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices to promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement 5+ years of experience designing and developing backend systems using Python Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles Proven experience working with high volume data applications, including data ingestion, processing, and storage Experience working in or designing distributed systems Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure Experience in designing schemas and operating database systems under high volume work loads, particularly SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, Redis, and ElasticSearch Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, CICD, Terragrunt and Git Self starter with excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills Ability to work Rapidly and independently Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail Experience with Django and Celery is a plus Prior early-stage startup experience is a plus Experience in DevOps or Security is a plus Benefits We love working at Select Star and think you would too!
