OBJECTIVES OF THE INTERNSHIP:

The internship will take place within the Awareness - Communication department of Handicap International, at the headquarters of Lyon, as part of the daily missions of the service with a large section dedicated to the organization of the deployments of the Shoe Pyramids. Be a support to the Awareness - Communication service in their awareness-raising actions and any project. 

We invite you to learn about the awareness-raising and mobilization actions by consulting: the Volunteering and awareness-raising area for Handicap International.

The mission will take place from January 11 to July 10, 2027 (6 months).

The Shoe Pyramids are the highlight of awareness and citizen mobilization for Handicap International. For more than 30 years, all citizens, schoolchildren, business employees, supporters of Handicap International or even politicians have been invited to come:

-          Throw their shoes to show their support for the causes supported by Handicap International, the shoe symbolizing citizen commitment to protect civilians;

-          Learn through an interactive, fun and educational exhibition about Handicap International, its areas of intervention and its struggles ;

-          Meet and discuss with our field experts

Since 2024 Handicap International has developed so-called “mobile” shoe pyramids. The goal? Be present all year round throughout France. Thanks to this system we can get as close as possible to our different targets (schools, supporters, general public, elected officials, media) and offer them comprehensive awareness-raising time on our missions in the world. The course will be oriented around three components

- Support for prospecting (search for host structures or partners interested in guided tours)

-        Event and logistical support for the preparation and execution of deployments.
