Description: UNIVERSITY OF ZAGREB FACULTY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING AND SHIPBUILDING Zagreb, Ivana Lučića 5 Based on Article 12 of the Statute, the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Shipbuilding announces N A T J E C A J For the position Associate on the project, Junior researcher SPONA - Efficient coupled systems for maritime-air operations with advanced autonomy, at the Institute of Shipbuilding and Maritime Technology, Department of Construction of Vessels, work for a fixed period (predictably until July 1, 2029), full-time, with a condition of trial work of 6 months, 2 executors. The project was financed from the Program "Competitiveness and Cohesion" 2021-2027. (European Fund for Regional Development) under the call for "Collaborative Scientific Research" (PK.1.1.13). Job description for the position Associate on the project, Junior researcher on the project: • participates in scientific work on a scientific project, • participates in research and development activities on research and development projects, • performs other tasks within its scope determined by the project manager He reports to the project manager for his work. Applicants competing for the position must meet the following conditions: 1. Collaborator on the project – Junior researcher 1 Job description - area of system dynamics modeling: • Participates in the work on a scientific research project. • Participates in research and development activities in the field of system dynamics modeling, with an emphasis on coupled USV-UAV system dynamics and experimental validation. • Participates in the development of mathematical and numerical models of the movement of vessels, unmanned aerial vehicles, stabilized platforms and their interactions. • Participates in the experimental determination and identification of parameters of dynamic models and their calibration and validation based on laboratory and field tests. • Participates in the processing and analysis of measurement data, the creation of technical documentation, project reports and scientific publications, and in the dissemination of project results. • Performs other tasks within the scope of his work as determined by the project manager. In addition to the general conditions, additional criteria are proposed for the selection of candidates: • completed university graduate studies or integrated university undergraduate and graduate studies in the field of technical sciences, aviation, rocket and space technology, mechanical engineering or shipbuilding • knowledge of programming and numerical data processing, preferably in the MATLAB programming language and/or the Python programming environment • active knowledge of the English language in speech and writing • desirable experience in mathematical or numerical modeling of system motion dynamics 2. Collaborator on the project – Junior researcher 2 Job description - field of mechatronics and robotics: • Participates in the work on a scientific research project. • Participates in the development, fabrication, integration and experimental validation of mechatronic subsystems and prototypes, including sensors, actuators, control units and their connection to digital models. • Participates in research and development activities in the field of mechatronics and robotics, with an emphasis on sensor data fusion and digital twin systems. • Participates in the preparation and implementation of laboratory, pool and field tests, as well as the processing and analysis of the results. • Participates in the creation of technical documentation, project reports and scientific publications and in the dissemination of project results. • Performs other tasks within the scope of his work as determined by the project manager. In addition to the general conditions, additional criteria are proposed for the selection of candidates: • completed university graduate studies or integrated university undergraduate and graduate studies in the field of technical sciences, mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, aviation, rocket and space engineering, electrical engineering or computer science • knowledge of the basics of mechatronics, robotics and automatic control systems • knowledge of programming, preferably in Python and/or C/C++ programming languages • knowledge of working with sensors, actuators, embedded computer systems and/or data collection systems • active knowledge of the English language in speech and writing • desirable experience in 3D CAD modeling and additive manufacturing, including preparation of digital models for production, selection and adjustment of process parameters, operation of 3D printers and production and finishing of prototype parts In the application to the competition, applicants should provide personal information: personal name and surname, residential address, telephone number and e-mail address, and the name of the job for which they are applying. With the written application, applicants are required to submit evidence of meeting the conditions of the competition: resume, proof of professional training, proof of work experience (copy of work book or electronic record or confirmation of data recorded in the register of the Croatian Pension Insurance Institute), proof of citizenship, and other attachments proving fulfillment of the special conditions of the competition. Applicants who, on the basis of special regulations, invoke the right of preference during employment, are obliged to refer to that right in the application for the competition, and to attach all the evidence prescribed by the special regulations for the exercise of that right. Such entrants gain an advantage during employment compared to other entrants, only under equal conditions. Incomplete and untimely applications will not be considered. Applicants will be informed about the result of the competition within the deadline prescribed by law. Tender documents, ie data on candidates, are kept for three months from the date of conclusion of the employment contract with the selected candidate. After the expiration of the storage period, the documentation is destroyed, with the fact that each candidate can pick up his documentation at the employer's office until the expiration of the storage period. Persons of both sexes have the right to apply for the competition under equal conditions. The deadline for submitting tender applications is 8 days from the publication of the tender.
