Description:

Bloom Future is a startup developing a digital career guidance app for students, schools, and companies. From our office at Campus Founders in Heilbronn, we help young people make informed decisions about their professional futures.

To that end, we’re looking for a working student in UX design who is eager to actively help shape our digital products and further develop the Bloom Future user experience.

Our product combines AI-powered conversations, personal profiles, recommendations, explanations, learning paths, and concrete career opportunities. Every UX decision is made in consideration of data, AI behavior, technical constraints, trust, and business requirements.

Responsibilities

Our frontend is built on Flutter and Dart, and our backend on Python and FastAPI. You don’t need to be a software developer or write production-ready code. However, you should be curious and eager to work with our developers and modern development tools to understand and examine repositories, documentation, API interfaces, and existing implementations.

Possible tasks include

• Examining existing product behavior and relevant technical constraints
• Structuring problems and identifying key assumptions and uncertainties
• Developing, comparing, and evaluating different solution approaches
• Prototype and test ideas with students
• Translate findings into interaction design, UI, and concrete recommendations for action
• Document findings, considerations, and open questions in a clear and traceable manner
• Work closely with our CTO and engineers during implementation
• Question existing decisions and drive better solutions when a more sensible direction emerges

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Table

• Experience independently guiding a product or interaction task from initial research through implementation
• A keen sense for interaction and product design
• Hands-on experience with user research and usability testing
• Systemic thinking and a strong understanding of user flows, states, data, and edge cases
• Technical curiosity and a willingness to understand complex product behavior
• Clear reasoning and the courage to constructively question decisions
• Interest in using developer- and AI-powered tools to investigate product behavior and technical constraints
