The Directorate of Fisheries has adopted an ambitious strategy for the future data platform. Our aim is for the Directorate to simplify, harmonize and standardize how data is handled in the organisation. As part of the follow-up of the strategy, we have recently established a data platform team. The team currently consists of data engineers, database administrators and information managers and has a total of 5 colleagues. The team is central to the development of the future data platform, including the data catalog, as well as the management of the current Oracle database platform.
We are now looking for an architect for the data platform. The position combines strategic responsibility with more operational and hands-on tasks. You will contribute actively with development and be a link between business needs and technical solutions.
Your place of work will be at the Directorate of Fisheries' head office in Bergen, where the section manager and the bulk of the section's employees are located. The rest of the IT department is also located in Bergen, which together make up approx. 60 employees.
Work tasks
The work tasks will be able to be adapted to the individual's experience, competence and area of interest, and will be developed in line with the needs of the team and the data platform.

The position is placed as an advisor/senior advisor, with a salary from NOK 700,000 to NOK 900,000 per year, depending on qualifications. For particularly qualified applicants, a slightly higher salary may be considered.
