Description: About the Attorney-General's Office: The Attorney-General leads the prosecution in Norway. The Office of the Attorney-General also consists of an assistant attorney-general, 27 first state prosecutors/state attorneys, two deputy attorney-generals and 26 administrative employees. The office has offices in central Oslo and is organized with three departments: Department for agency development and professional management, Department for criminal cases and judicial development and Department for joint services and business management. The Office of the Attorney General is looking for two skilled employees to work with analysis and knowledge development. We have one vacancy for you who are at the start of your career (advisor), and one for you who have several years of relevant experience (senior advisor). Those hired will form part of the office's analysis team, which is organized in the Department for joint services and business management. Central tasks for the analysis team are work with performance monitoring of the state prosecutor's offices, professional management of the police and development of knowledge about the criminal case work of the higher prosecution authority and the police. The work includes, among other things, follow-up of results both in the own agency and in the police, as well as the development of a knowledge base for strategic decisions and management dialogue with the Ministry of Justice and Emergency Preparedness. The analysis team shall strengthen the knowledge base for management, prioritization and professional development. The position as adviser (SKO 1434) has an annual salary within the range of NOK. 650,000 – 750,000. The position as senior adviser (SKO 1364) has a salary range of NOK 750,000 – 950,000 depending on qualifications and experience. About the employer: The higher prosecuting authority consists of the Attorney General's Office, four regional and one national state attorney's office, as well as the state prosecutors at Økokrim. Our agency has 229 employees, of which currently 144 are state prosecutors and 85 are administrative employees. In addition, there are 20 public prosecutors at Økokrim. The public prosecutor and the public prosecutors have the overall professional management of criminal proceedings in the police districts. Through its own handling of criminal cases and professional management of the police, the higher prosecution authority shall contribute to reducing crime in Norway. The administrative responsibility for the higher prosecution authority rests with the attorney general, and here questions about prosecution in the most serious criminal cases from the whole country are also decided. The central tasks of the regional state prosecutors are to decide prosecution questions, process complaints, prosecute criminal cases before all courts - including Norway's The Supreme Court - and exercise professional leadership towards the police.
