Kirurgisk Serviceklinikk (KSK), is the largest somatic clinic in the company with responsibility for large parts of the offer within surgery, anaesthesia, intensive care and emergency medicine at Haukeland University Hospital. Over 1,400 employees work in the clinic as of today.

The sterile supply and support department (SSA department) is a large department in the clinic with its three sections. Overall, the department's core area consists of being responsible for the safe cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of the hospital's reusable medical equipment used in surgery and other patient care. In addition, two of the sections carry out the preparation of operating tables around the clock, ordering and receiving goods, warehousing and logistics. The department changes in step with the technological development in the hospital. New buildings are built and the structure is changed. 

SSA provides high quality services to ensure that healthcare personnel in patient care experience a good logistics of goods and equipment flow.

There are vacancies as an assistant in the Outpost Support section. The section mainly deals with special cleaning of critical and semi-critical equipment such as surgical instruments, medical-technical equipment and cleaning of operating tables. There is a section where we contribute our expertise to operating departments such as the Day Surgeon, Thorax, Glasblokkene, Eye, Outpatient Clinics, Intensive Care, Emergency Department, Burn Injury, Heart Outpatient Clinic, Radiology Department and Outpost Anesthesia. Support Outpost works in 2- and 3-part shifts, i.e. day-evening-night and with weekend shifts depending on location. 

In order to ensure a stable and high level, it is expected that employees in assistant positions take training in the sterile supply subject at the Vocational School in Vestland. The education takes place in combination with work. 

Work tasks

• Cleaning and disinfection of operating tables, intensive care rooms etc.
• Sterile supply tasks - mainly decontamination (cleaning and disinfection) of reusable medical equipment
• Ordering, receiving and supplying the department with consumables
• Ensuring a good flow of goods throughout the day and reducing the risk of "bottlenecks"
• The tasks can be changed in line with the department's and/or the hospital's development
• New tasks can be created and/or in line with the hospital's development and needs
• We look after different units inside as well as outside Central Operations
• Rolling in different units must therefore be considered
• Some work tasks can be physically demanding

Qualifications

• Professional certificate in cleaning/or logistics is desirable but not a requirement
• Experience from relevant service work is desirable but not a requirement
• You must be able to easily navigate in both eb, outlook and word (single office program/microsoft 365)
• Knowledge of Norwegian must be documented (from advanced or Bergen test)
