Description:

We are looking for a senior platform developer who will contribute to modernizing Helse Sør-Öst's regional data and analysis platform. You will work at Sykehuspartner, which is the ICT supplier to Health South-East. 

The platform harvests health data from various sources, and develops various data products, reports and analyzes that the hospitals in the region use - for business management, quality assurance, patient care and research, among other things. With health data comes extensive regulations for privacy, and therefore the need for a continuously modernised, secure and stable platform. 

You will have a unique opportunity to take a technical driving role to modernize the platform. The role is suitable for you who both like to build practical solutions and who are able to contribute in technical solution design and architectural work. You must be able to understand target architecture, assess alternative solution choices, see consequences for operation, security and developer experience, and contribute to the fact that the solutions can actually be realized in practice. 

Senior platform developer reports to the leader of the Platform team, under the Product Area Data & Analysis, and works closely with the Method and DevEx team as well as other stakeholders. You report in terms of personnel to the Personnel & Competence Manager for Data & Analysis. We are in a recruitment phase and will at the same time recruit a Platform Developer, who you will get as a colleague. 

Tasks

• Modernization from server-based execution to container-based execution.
• Technical solution design for new and changed platform capabilities.
• Automate platform setup and make changes to reduce manual processes and risk.
• Translate target architecture, technical principles and needs from the teams into concrete, buildable solutions.
• Build and manage standardized platform services and runtime environments that make it easier to develop, test and operate data products.
• Continue developing container-based platform services and associated DevOps practices, linked to technologies such as Airflow and Docker.
• Ensure that the solutions work well in a hybrid on-prem/cloud run.
• Document central solution choices so that others can understand, manage and further develop the solutions. 

Qualifications

Relevant higher education at bachelor's or master's level. Experience can compensate for a lack of formal education. 

• 5+ years of relevant experience as a developer, platform engineer, DevOps engineer or equivalent in platform/infrastructure-related environments.
• Experience with container-based solutions and automated CI/CD processes. 
• Practical experience with both Windows Server, Linux / CLI, and use of Git.
• Practical experience with troubleshooting in close-to-production or close-to-operational environments.
• Experience in establishing or improving operation / observability, and working in a structured manner with stability.
• Experience with practical solution design across development, operations, security and architecture. 
• Ability to understand target architecture and translate this into concrete technical solutions. 
• Experience with, or good understanding of, data and analysis workflow, and platform capabilities. 
• Good presentation skills in Norwegian, both written and spoken
  
  
• Experience with one or more of the following is an advantage:
• Python
  Airflow
  dbt
  Database technology such as Oracle Exadata and MS SQL Server
  Security and access control in a platform context (Secrets, IAM, RBAC)
  Infrastructure such as code and Kubernetes
  Object storage and S3 
  Work with solution architecture, architecture documentation or technical decision support. 
  Cloud technologies or hybrid architecture (Microsoft Fabric / Azure, AWS or GCP)
