Data Engineer for the Data and Insight area

Entur is a technology company with high ambitions and low shoulders. We create solutions for everyone who travels by public transport in Norway, and our societal mission is to build the digital infrastructure that makes it easier for more people to travel by public transport.

Entur's data platform is the foundation for the entire business - from sales data and travel search to route planning and customer service. We are talking about over NOK 4.5 billion in annual turnover through the sales platform, 2.5 billion travel searches and hundreds of thousands of customer inquiries. Before the data can be used for decisions across the sector, it must be processed and quality assured – and this is where you come in.

The Data and Insight area aims to make both Entur and the entire public transport sector more data-driven, through data infrastructure and insight in close collaboration with the rest of the organisation. You will be part of a strong professional environment with data engineers, analysts and data scientists.

As a data engineer you will:

• Build and maintain data pipelines in Python, Kotlin and SQL (BigQuery/GCP)
• Develop and improve the infrastructure and tools around the data products - from Terraform modules and CI/CD with GitHub Actions to monitoring and cost management
• Build tools and routines that make it easier to discover and handle data quality problems
• Collaborate across the data teams on common issues such as access management, data sharing and governance
• Contribute to other teams in Entur being able to own and manage their own data, through good documentation and best practice
• Participate in setting a high technical standard through code review, sparring and knowledge sharing

Who are you?
You have opinions about what a good pipeline looks like, and you know the difference between a quick fix and a solution that lasts over time. You enjoy working across teams and disciplines, and you are just as comfortable discussing data modeling as explaining a technical solution to someone without a technical background.

We are looking for you as:

• Has solid experience in building data pipelines or similar development work
• Has experience with modern data infrastructure in the cloud - we use GCP, BigQuery, Dataform and Terraform
• Knows Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD
• Sees the value of data being correct and reliable, and knows how to keep it that way over time
• Thrives in interdisciplinary product teams, close to analysts, developers and product owners
• Communicates well in Norwegian, both in writing and orally
