Description: About the position

Kartverket has an exciting opportunity for you who are interested in geodesy, calculations and precision. We are looking for a committed and technically skilled geodesist who wants to help ensure that coordinates and geographical data work seamlessly across reference frames, data sets and systems.

We are strengthening our professional environment and are looking for you who want to help manage and further develop Norway's geodetic reference frames and transformation services. With us, you get to work with the development and quality assurance of transformations, technical solutions and international standards that form the basis for the correct use of geographical information throughout society. The work also contributes to the development of National Joint Solutions for geographic information, among other things by ensuring the correct storage and transformation of coordinates in GIS solutions. We are looking for someone who combines professional quality and precision with an understanding of the users' needs, and who wants to develop solutions that create value for the users of geographic information.

The position is suitable for you who thrive at the intersection between geodesy, data analysis, calculations and standardisation. You are motivated by solving complex problems based on user needs and want to contribute to solutions that are used by the entire geomatics sector. The position may also provide the opportunity to contribute to research and development work in geodesy in collaboration with other divisions in the Mapping Authority and external partners.

The geodesy division in the Mapping Authority is responsible for reference frames and the height base in Norway, and our work extends beyond national borders, within, among other things, satellite navigation, space weather and earth observation. With a team of over 50 committed employees, we are an important player in the development of methods that support research, navigation and mapping - both nationally and internationally.

We offer an inclusive work environment with high competence and great commitment. We look forward to hearing from you about how you can contribute to our exciting work!
