About Checkr
Checkr is building a data platform to facilitate safe and fair decision-making. Founded in 2014, Checkr's technology and robust data platform help clients assess risk and ensure security and compliance to create trusted workplaces and communities. 
As Accounting Leader, you will report to the Senior Accounting Director and be responsible for all accounting operations of the Chilean entity, ensuring compliance with local legal, tax and regulatory requirements, while adhering to company-wide accounting policies and deadlines. The ideal candidate is an accounting leader with practical experience, who is fluent in English, has a deep understanding of Chilean generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), tax regulations and legal reporting, and has experience in multinational environments.

Advanced communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Availability to work in a hybrid format in the Santiago office (3x2). We are

4+ years of software engineering experience with a strong backend focus.

Strong Python (or Go) skills.

Experience building or maintaining distributed systems, APIs, or data pipelines.

Experience with container deployments — Docker, Kubernetes / EKS.

Familiarity with cloud platforms — AWS preferred.

As a Software Engineer II on the Data Acquisition team, you will work on high-impact projects that directly support Checkr's core product. You will be a key contributor to the development and evolution of our data platforms, collaborating with engineers in Santiago and the United States.

Responsibilities

Work on the development lifecycle of data platform functionalities, from design and architecture to deployment, testing and monitoring in production.

Design and build new data acquisition platforms in Python, with a focus on reliability, scalability and observability.

Participate in architectural decisions, write design documents and contribute to the technical direction of the team's platforms.

Improve platform visibility through logging structured, metrics and alerts using Datadog and OpenTelemetry.

Work closely with engineers in Chile and the United States, contributing to planning and execution with an async-first approach.
