As Accounting Leader, you will report to the Senior Director of Accounting and be responsible for all accounting operations of the Chilean entity, ensuring compliance with local legal, tax, and regulatory requirements while adhering to company-wide accounting policies and deadlines. The ideal candidate is an accounting leader with hands-on experience who is fluent in English, has a deep understanding of Chilean Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), tax regulations, and legal reporting, and has experience in multinational environments.

- +5 years of experience in backend software development with strong proficiency in Ruby, Golang, Python, Java, or C#
- Solid knowledge of computer science fundamentals, such as relational and non-relational databases, data structures, algorithms, and REST APIs.
- Proficiency in React.
- Experience in domain modeling, object-oriented design, and systems architecture.
- Proven experience writing clear, tested, and concise code.
- Ability to set expectations and make informed decisions through project estimates based on available information.
- Ability to draft and review technical proposals, providing constructive feedback and articulating trade-offs.
- Strong sense of responsibility across all aspects of the development lifecycle, including incident response and accountability for product robustness.
- Desire to collaborate and share knowledge with colleagues, both within the team and across the organization.
- Enthusiasm for learning, improving, and innovating in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
- Willingness to work in a hybrid work model at our office in Santiago. Three days in the office and two days working from home.

About the Position
As a Senior Software Engineer at Checkr, you’ll play a crucial role in advancing our product as we pursue our mission to build the data platform of the future. You’ll collaborate with fellow engineers and product counterparts to design and deliver new platform capabilities and key product initiatives. Your passion for technical excellence will drive progress in modernizing our tech stack, simplifying system architecture, and automating manual workflows to ensure the scalability and efficiency of our platform.
Responsibilities
- Develop new platform capabilities and product offerings, from design through launch.
- Strike a balance between time-to-market and long-term growth by designing with a vision for the future while building for the present.
- Collaborate with the Product team to define appropriately scoped initiatives and develop a roadmap that meets business needs quarter after quarter.
- Maintain customer goodwill by ensuring system availability, participating in on-call shifts, addressing support requests, and taking preventive measures to improve reliability.
