Why this role

We build software that real companies work with. You will be part of a small, experienced and fast team in which, as the product owner, you will be responsible for the product vision and implementation from start to finish, instead of working through a backlog that someone else has prepared. You'll work closely with experienced engineers, manage AI-powered development workflows, and move features from concept to production within weeks.

This role is for someone who thinks in systems, user benefits, and operational clarity, not just Jira status.

Honestly: AI in 2026

We develop quickly with modern AI tools (Cursor, Claude, Copilot, etc.). As our Product Owner, you don't have to write production code yourself, but you do need to understand how AI-native development changes delivery cycles, effort estimation, and scoping.

The AI tools can write code, but they don't know what our customers really need, how processes are connected across companies, or what trade-offs make sense for our architecture. This is exactly the kind of judgment we are looking for. The bar is not “Can you fill out a user story template?” The benchmark is: Can you translate a confusing operational reality into crystal-clear product requirements, consistently prioritize and efficiently guide developers and AI assistants to build the right thing?

Tasks

What you do

You are responsible for the roadmap and backlog: you define, cut and prioritize features from concept to production.
You translate Higher-level business goals into precise, actionable requirements and data models that our engineering team and AI tools can work with.
You ensure smooth communication between stakeholders, developers and users, in German and English.
You control sprints, remove obstacles and keep the pace high, without unnecessary bureaucracy.
You check delivered features against the acceptance criteria and pay attention to high quality, good UX and real business benefits.
You will develop our product processes as we grow, keep feedback loops short and the developer experience smooth.

You don't have to program, but you speak “tech” fluently and understand how modern software is built under the hood will.

Requirements

What we are looking for

Must-haves

Demonstrable experience as a product owner, technical project manager or product lead in software development.
Fluent in spoken and written German (at least C1) as well as very good English (at least C1), essential for coordination with customers, stakeholders and the Team.
Strong technical understanding: You know modern web stacks, databases (Postgres) and APIs and know how software architecture works.
Familiarity with AI-powered software development and its impact on product planning and pacing.
Passion for clarity: You write concise specifications, edge cases and acceptance criteria that ask no questions leave open.
Independent, pragmatic and proactive way of working.

Nice-to-haves

Background in software development or computer science.
Experience in start-ups or in fast, experienced product teams.
Practice with modern collaboration and project tools (Linear, Notion, GitHub Projects).

Your judgment when structuring and your speed of implementation are much more important to us than the length of your CV.
