Akershus County Council is looking for a senior advisor who will strengthen our work with statistics, analysis and knowledge development. We are looking for you who thrive at the intersection of statistics, research, social development and communication, and who wants to develop and convert knowledge into decision support for administrative and political management, municipalities and partners

The position is part of the Department of Sport, Diversity and Public Health, and has a central role in developing, analyzing and disseminating knowledge about development trends that affect living conditions, public health and social development in Akershus.

You will have a central role in further develop the county council's work with statistics, analysis and knowledge base, and contribute to ensuring that insight is translated into decision support for administrative and political management.

Job tasks:

As an employee, you will, among other things, contribute to the work by:

• developing and further developing a knowledge base on public health, living conditions and community development at regional and national level level
• further develop the knowledge base for the county council's recommendation on resettlement of refugees
• obtain, analyze and disseminate statistics, research and other relevant data sources
• identify new knowledge needs and contribute to the development of analysis methods and working methods
• plan, order, follow up and ensure the quality of analyses, population surveys and research assignments
• develop analyzes and decision-making bases for administrative and political management
• contribute to the development of the county council's strategic analysis and knowledge work
• collaborate with municipalities, research environments and other partners on knowledge development
• convey analyzes and insights through reports, presentations, webinars and digital solutions.

Qualifications:

• relevant education from college/university at minimum master's level. Bachelor's and vocational training can compensate for requirements for a master's
• solid experience with statistics, analysis and knowledge development
• experience with population surveys or other major surveys
• experience with processing, analyzing and visualizing complex data bases and translating analyzes into decision-making bases
• experience with analysis of living conditions, public health or other societal challenges is an advantage
• experience with ordering and following up analysis, research or investigative assignments
• experience with statistics and analysis tools such as R, Python, SPSS, Stata or equivalent is an advantage
• good understanding of public administration and political decision-making processes
• experience with collaboration across disciplines and organizations
• very good written and oral presentation skills in Norwegian
