Your tasks:
º Independent work in research projects in cooperation with industrial partners
º Development of process models in plastics processing with a focus on injection molding
º Further development of inline-capable process measurement technology
º Application of machine learning methods
º Supervision of bachelor's/master's/diploma theses
º Active teaching in the bachelor's and master's degree programs in plastics technology
º Writing and collaboration on scientific articles for international journals and participation at
relevant conferences
º Willingness to learn, apply and establish new methods
º Support in project acquisition in the area of third-party research
º Assumption of equipment responsibilities
Your profile:
º Completed studies in technical sciences with a focus on plastics processing (Diplom/MSc)
Mechatronics, mechanical engineering, physics or similar
º High motivation, commitment and independence in Research, development and teaching
º Very good knowledge of spoken and written German and English (at least level B2)
º Experience in the following areas is expected:
º Application of injection molding process knowledge
º Independent operation of injection molding machines
º Material data determination of plastics (rheology, thermodynamics, ...)
º Modeling or simulation of manufacturing processes in plastics processing
º Inline, online, in-situ process sensors; Control and regulation technology
º Programming and data analysis
º Writing publications in refereed scientific journals, preferably as first author
º Ideally, you have knowledge or initial experience in one or more of the following
areas:
º Planning, conducting and evaluating scientific experiments as well as analysis of complex data sets
º Numerical simulation of transport processes with Ansys Polyflow, Ansys Fluent, Moldex3D or similar
º Programming, especially in Python and MATLAB
º Sensor technology and measurement data acquisition in injection molding production cells
º Control and regulation technology on injection molding machines
º Use of artificial intelligence in a scientific context
º Machine learning or statistical data analysis in Python or Matlab
º Modeling and simulation of technical systems (e.g. CFD, FEM or digital twins)
º Implementation of research and development projects in an industrial environment
