Report as Closed

Company: ØKOKRIM- OSLO

Country: Norway

Type: Onsite

Employment: Full-time

Description: Økokrim

Would you like to help contribute to Økokrim's work to combat and limit economic crime and environmental crime?

Economic and environment-related crime is becoming increasingly complex and socially damaging. As the police's central unit in these areas, Økokrim is on the front line. We are now looking for more people who will contribute to further developing our work and strengthen Norway's ability to meet these challenges.

With us, you will be part of a strong and committed professional environment with expertise from many professions. We combine solid specialist knowledge with modern technology and interdisciplinary working methods, and we work closely together to find solutions that actually make a difference. Join us and use your skills in an important and meaningful social mission that contributes to a safer and more robust Norway.

We are now looking for a developer for the department for digital investigation and innovation (ADEi).

About the position

Digital traces are among the most important pieces of evidence in modern criminal cases, and Økokrim is investing heavily in technology to make the best possible use of them. We don't hunt tomorrow's money launderers with yesterday's Excel sheets.

In ADEi, the professional environment digital investigation support runs internal development projects to strengthen capacity and expertise in digital investigation, in addition to collaboration with leading international suppliers of hardware and software. As a developer with us, you get to build software that supports the entire investigative process, from securing digital traces to presenting evidence in court. The goal is to make digital investigations more efficient, precise and quality-assured, with code that really makes a difference in the fight against organized economic crime.

We are looking for you who have worked for a few years as a developer and who are now ready to use your experience to work in a targeted way to throttle the capacity of criminal networks that systematically drain society of massive sums.

Work tasks
  • design and develop applications for data processing and integrations
  • automate testing, packaging and deployment with CI/CD tools
  • set up robust mechanisms for logging, monitoring and scalability
  • develop methods and techniques that make data more accessible and work processes more efficient
  • collaborate closely in interdisciplinary teams with technical and non-technical roles, as well as users

Qualifications

You must have this to be qualified:

  • minimum 3 years of relevant education at college or university level (completed bachelor's degree or equivalent)
  • experience with object-oriented programming in one or more programming languages (e.g. Java, Kotlin, Python etc.)
  • experience with standard relational databases (SQL)
  • experience with design and development of REST APIs
  • very good oral and written presentation skills in Norwegian and English
  • must be able to be security cleared and authorized for CONFIDENTIAL

It is also desirable to have:

  • experience with integrations with external systems
  • experience with web frameworks such as FastAPI, Spring or similar
  • experience with asynchronous processes and Azure service bus, Kafka or RabbitMQ
  • experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment of applications
  • knowledge of TypeScript and frontend framework for minor adjustments and bug fixes in existing interfaces
  • experience with authentication and securing data and endpoints

Applications without a diploma will not be processed. Relevant work certificates are also desired.

You must have a clean character and be fit for service in the police, and a police certificate (exhaustive and extended) must be obtained upon possible employment, cf. the Police Act § 18 and the Police Register Act § 41.

Personal characteristics

You take initiative, are curious and dare to ask questions. You thrive on change and like to explore new technology – preferably by testing new solutions that can produce better results.

You are also good at listening and conveying complex things in a simple way, regardless of whether you are talking to a developer or someone who can't code. For you, safety and quality are a matter of course from day one – not something that comes afterwards.

We want you who value a good working environment. We take the subject seriously, but ourselves a little less solemnly. Humor and good collaboration skills are therefore personal qualities that are valued at us.

Personal suitability will be emphasised.

As an employee in the police, you have a high ethical awareness, you are characterized by being brave and holistically oriented, you show respect and are close. You can read more about our ethical guidelines and employee platform her.

This is what we can offer if you choose us
  • a challenging and exciting workplace with a social mission that receives a lot of attention in the public
  • good working environment, interdisciplinary cooperation and committed colleagues
  • strong professional environments
  • good opportunity for professional and personal development
  • membership of the State Pension Fund (www.spk.no)
  • flexible working hours
  • training during working hours
  • the position is paid as chief engineer/senior engineer (SKO 1087/1181) depending on qualifications, NOK 750,000 - 1,000,000, per year.
