COMPETITION

for the selection of one associate, for the associate post of senior assistant, for the scientific field of natural sciences, scientific field of physics, for work on the project of the Croatian Science Foundation "Fragility of photosynthesis in the sea due to climate change" (HRZZ-IP-2022-10-8859), for a certain period of time

Terms:

- doctorate in the field of natural sciences

Additional criteria:

– published scientific publications

- desirable work experience in teaching at undergraduate and graduate university or professional studies

– participation in scientific research projects

– preferred field of research: satellite oceanography

– desirable experience in numerical modeling, data processing and machine learning

- desirable experience working in the Python programming language

Applicants who apply for the competition must, in addition to the conditions specified in the competition, also meet the general conditions prescribed by the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activities (Official Gazette 119/2022)

In addition to the signed competition application, applicants must attach: a curriculum vitae, a copy of the diploma of completed studies, a decision on the recognition of a foreign higher education qualification for applicants who obtained the qualification abroad, a transcript of grades with average, motivation letter, proof of citizenship, and foreign citizens must also attach proof of knowledge of the Croatian language (C2-advanced level) and proof of fulfillment of other conditions and additional criteria.

Applicants who invoke the right of priority in employment in accordance with special regulations are obliged to invoke this right in their application for the competition and have priority over other candidates only under the same conditions established by the competition, and on the basis of an orderly, complete and timely application for the competition. Applicants who refer to the right of priority in employment in accordance with Articles 102 and 103 of the Act on Croatian Veterans of the Homeland War and Members of Their Families (Official Gazette No. 121/17, 98/19, 84/21, 156/23), are required to submit, in addition to evidence of meeting the required conditions, all necessary evidence from Article 103, paragraph 1, available at the link of the Ministry of Croatian veterans https://branitelji.gov.hr/zaposljavanje-843/843.

By submitting an application to the tender, applicants expressly agree that PMF, as the manager of the collection of personal data, may collect, use and further process data for the purpose of implementing the tender procedure in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation - GDPR) and the Act on the Implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation.

For applicants who meet the formal conditions of the competition, a test and/or interview can be conducted to check the knowledge and skills essential for performing the duties of the position. All information about the testing will be published on the official website of the Faculty of Science in Split https://www.pmfst.unist.hr/, at least five days before the event. If the applicant does not attend the verification, it will be considered that he has withdrawn his application to the competition. Applicants will be notified of the place and time of the examination by email to the email address they provide in the application. Candidates of both sexes can participate equally in the competition.

Applications are submitted in electronic form within 30 days from the announcement of the tender in the National Gazette to the email address natjecaj-posao@pmfst.hr. A complete application is considered an application that contains all attachments and is signed by hand. Untimely and incomplete applications will not be considered, nor will applicants of incomplete applications be invited to supplement their application.

Applicants will be informed about the results of the competition within the legal deadline.
