What we're building: We're a two-person startup seeking a remote contractor full stack developer to accelerate our product development. You'll work directly with the founder to architect, implement, and optimize features that drive customer value.

Tech stack: Python 3.12, Django, Airflow, MongoDB, Next.js, TypeScript, Pulumi, AWS ECS, GitHub. The work spans Python-based backend services, data processing pipelines, and modern frontend interfaces. You'll collaborate on API design, data modeling, workflow orchestration, and front-end components.

• Proven experience as a full stack developer, preferably in a startup or contract environment.
• Proficiency with Python 3.12, Django, and MongoDB, including data modeling and query optimization.
• Strong experience with Next.js and TypeScript for building scalable frontend applications.
• Hands-on knowledge of Airflow for workflow orchestration and data pipeline management.
• Familiarity with Pulumi or similar IaC tools and deploying to AWS (ECS or equivalent), including CI/CD practices.
• Experience with GitHub workflows, including PR reviews, issue tracking, and release management.
• Ability to design clean, maintainable APIs and collaborate effectively with a small, distributed team.
• Strong problem-solving skills, proactive communication, and a pragmatic, ownership-driven attitude.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services using Python 3.12 and Django, ensuring scalability and reliability for data-heavy workloads.
• Build and optimize data pipelines with Airflow and MongoDB, enabling efficient processing of large datasets.
• Implement modern frontend components with Next.js and TypeScript to deliver responsive, accessible user interfaces.
• Collaborate on infrastructure as code and deployment pipelines using Pulumi and AWS ECS to support continuous delivery.
• Participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, and best-practice establishment for a growing startup.
• Work closely with product and design to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Hours: You must be available most work days between 10am - 3pm Pacific Time
