Company: SKATTEETATEN OSLO FREDRIK SELMERS V

Country: Norway

Type: Hybrid remote

Employment: Full-time

Description:

Do you want to use analytics and programming to solve problems that matter?

Are you early in your career and curious about what data can really tell us? Perhaps you have worked a little with analysis, programming or visualization through studies, projects or your first job. Then this could be the opportunity to develop yourself further, while at the same time contributing to an important social mission.
With us you can explore data in some of Norway's most important registers and basic data schemes. You will find patterns, understand connections, uncover errors and develop solutions that make data quality work more systematic. You will not be working alone. You will collaborate with, among others, analysts, professionals, data owners, developers, data engineers, data scientists and BI environments.
We don't expect you to know everything from day one. The most important thing is that you have a good academic background, like to learn and find it exciting to find out why the numbers look the way they do.

When you apply for this position, you do not need to write an application letter, but submit a descriptive CV where you highlight what you have done in the past that qualifies you for the job. Include which tasks and subject areas you have been responsible for, and which results you have achieved.

You can spend your days on this

You will work to explore and analyze data quality in registers and other basic data. The tasks will vary, but this is some of what you can work on:

  • mapping and analyzing data quality
  • testing new compilations of data
  • developing methods and controls
  • trying out statistics and machine learning
  • developing dashboards and other solutions that make data quality work easier and more systematic
  • turning frameworks for data quality into practical methods
  • mapping value chains and relationships in data
  • communicate results to data owners and various professional environments

This is a role for you who like to go from question to investigation and on to a solution that others can actually use.

You don't need to know everything, but you should be familiar with this

You have relevant higher education at minimum bachelor's level. Current subject areas can be statistics, mathematics, informatics, data science, social economy, economics, engineering, information science or other educations with relevant analysis and programming content.
Relevant experience or particularly relevant projects can compensate for parts of the education requirement. Foreign degrees must be approved by NOKUT/HK-dir

In addition, you must:

  • have experience with programming from studies, projects, work or own activities
  • have good analytical skills
  • be able to communicate well, both in writing and orally

It is an advantage if you have experience in one or more of these areas:

  • data analysis
  • SQL
  • Python/R/similar programming language
  • register data and data quality
  • statistics or machine learning
  • visualization and dashboards
  • Git
  • Databricks or other cloud technology

You don't need to know everything on the list. Experience from relevant study projects, part-time jobs, internships, summer jobs or own projects can also be interesting.

We ask that diplomas and certificates be attached to the application

Who do you think will be comfortable with us

You don't have to know everything from day one, but we think you will succeed and feel comfortable with us if you are curious to understand how things fit together, like to learn new things and want to use your competence to solve real problems. We are looking for you who:

Takes initiative: You don't always wait for a finished recipe. When you see something that should be investigated or can be improved, you take it up, ask for what you need and try your hand at it.
Collaborates with others: You like to solve tasks together with others, share what you know and are curious about what your colleagues think. With us, you work with people who know different things, and we find the best solutions together.
Promotes openness: You speak up if something is unclear, share both findings and challenges and dare to ask questions. You listen to others and contribute to an environment where it is safe to come up with ideas and input.
Planning and structuring: You manage to make a large and somewhat unclear task more manageable by dividing it up, keeping an overview and documenting what you do. Then it will be easier for both you and others to understand the work and build on it.
Drivers of change: You are curious about whether things can be done smarter. You dare to challenge old ways of working, test new ideas and suggest improvements when you see that something could work better.
Problem Solving: You enjoy figuring out why numbers look the way they do. You investigate, look for patterns and connections and don't give up until you've gotten closer to the cause and found a solution that can be used in practice.

What you get with us

With us you get to use data, analysis and technology in the work on an important social mission. You will be part of a small and tight analysis team of 12 people in the information management division. We interact with other business analysts in the division. We work closely together, share knowledge and help each other in everyday life. At the same time, you become part of one of Norway's largest analysis environments. You get access to professional lunches, conferences, competence networks and professional groups within analysis, data science, artificial intelligence and data platforms. You will also have the opportunity to work on the Tax Agency's modern data and analysis platform and explore new technology together with experienced colleagues.

You get a framework that ensures a reasonable balance between work and leisure: you get flextime and paid overtime, summer time, as well as the opportunity to exercise a little during working hours. Membership in the State Pension Fund is also included. This means, among other things, that you get pension schemes and the opportunity to apply for a home loan with favorable conditions. We know that many people want a hybrid and flexible working day with opportunities to alternate between working from home and meeting in the office. We will of course make arrangements for that. With us, you can enter into an agreement on home work when the work tasks indicate that it can be done.

You will be employed as a consultant, with an annual salary of between NOK 550,000 and NOK 700,000, depending on your qualifications. The first six months are considered a trial period.
